  1. Ive always felt unworthy, not accepted and truly unloved until the day i finally had enough.
Being 36, i finally relized that i wanted to be in charge of my own life and if i wanted something to happen, then i had to make the right decision and go for it.
I finally went for that new impressive job and got it,
I left all my worries at the door and finally said yes to getting married,
And i am so happy and excited to be free within myself.

  2. Last week, my best friend and I pulled over in the middle of nowhere in order to pick wildflowers and weave them into flower crowns!

  3. Foot-loose and fancy free was I on my night down to Melbourne for my sister in law’s bar opening….why so free spirited and adventurous you might ask….? 🙂
    Good question!
…. I left my husband (a.k.a mere male) and my nearly two year old son (a.k.a little monkey – or monster- depending on which day you might ask) for the first time away….WOOHOO!!!!!
    Bar opening was phenomenal.
Hangover next day not so much.
But the retail therapy after a huge breaky most certainly cured that…. One cannot underestimate the free spriting adventures of shopping – I see all you Mums out there nod your heads in agreement!
    Here, here!! 😉

  4. After years on my own I have met a man who has put a spring in my step, inspires my free spirit and encourages me to be adventurous. It feels wonderful.

  5. I am cautious by nature so to be free spirited and adventurous, in the true sense of the word, will probably never happen in my lifetime. However I do possess a strength of character where I am able to come forward, speak my mind and not be afraid of other’s opinions. I note a funny occasion some years ago on a flight to Perth. A man stood waiting for the toilet and I heard lots of people’s conversations around me, each one wondering how they recognised the person. Egging each other on to go and ask him, but nobody would, I turned around and said “I’ll go and ask him”. He turned out to be the main actor from the 4X beer ads. When I announced it everyone on the plane nodded and there was a common chorus “Oh yes”. So I guess my adventurous nature is one that is not gung-ho and physically active, but one of standing up to speak out.

  6. It was my birthday and a friend sent me to her hair dresser. I was to get whatever I wanted done and my friend was going to pay for it on her credit card. I looked at the different styles of cut and the colours and I felt so free and uninhibited because I could choose anything I wanted!

  7. WELL I AM TERRIFIED OF HEIGHTS BUT I BUNGEE JUMPED! STILL INCREDIBLY SCARED BUT I FELT SO FREE AND EMPOWERED AFTERWARDS

  8. The last time that I felt free spirited and adventurous was when I had an elephant ride in Thailand, and was then able to feed them banana’s. They are a magnificent creature.
I mostly feel free spirited and adventurous when I am in the ocean.

  9. Have just got back from a long wished for trip to Cuba. In Havana, a taxi ride driving along the Malacon in a beautiful and immaculate “56 Chevy Impala convertible, the waves splashing up on the sea wall and the wind blowing my hair … bliss

  10. The last time I felt free spirited and adventurous was this past weekend. Here is Brisbane, we have just had the G20 conference with the world leaders putting our city into lockdown for security reasons. At the last minute I decided to have a little getaway and headed to Sydney. (This may not seem very adventurous to some, except I was leaving behind my husband and 6 children whom I have never left). It was a great weekend of connecting with my spirit and having some ME time. The highlight, other than just being away, was doing the Sydney Harbour Bridge climb and seeing the giraffes at Taronga Zoo.
I have come back a much better mummy with more patience. I am happy and relaxed. My family have found a new appreciation for what I do each and every day for them.

  11. Last Christmas, on holidays, after a few champagnes, the inhibitions dropped, the free spirit came out and I initiated an amazing adventure which entailed jumping over a very high fence, into a high end resort where we swam in the pool, were waited on hand and foot by the staff as we drank cocktails, enjoyed delicious finger food & once the fun was had we walked out the front gates and vanished without parting with a single cent 🙂

  12. The last time I felt free spirited and adventurous was many years ago, as my life tends to be boring. I went for a ride in my friends dads boat on our local beach….first and last time ever! It was awesome being out there on the Ocean with the boat bouncing up against the waves….I felt very adventurous holding on tight so I wouldnt fall out as it sped along!!

  13. Weeeeell I used to love surfing many years ago, until I went to the movies and watched JAWS for the first time ,,had already had a scare before that, when we were out on our boards with no one else on the beach ( thought that was odd ) someone came racing along the beach yelling SHARK SHARK we immediately looked around sure enough there was a black fin not very far away lucky we weren’t very far out boy did we paddle for our life as there wasn’t much doing in the wave department

  14. I felt free spirited and adventurous again after totally overhauling my diet and getting my life back! I was diagnosed with Hashimotos -an autoimmune condition and the cause of my many health issues. After overhauling my diet most of my health issues went away, I’ve lost 20 kilos in 9 months and I feel like a new woman!

  15. Whitewater rafting in Thailand with my family …and the navy! Never thought I would be able to even do that , let alone with so many gorgeous guys, just made me feel young at heart again!

  16. I live in paradise. Or at least close to it. I reside in Cairns in Far North Queensland. This means that I am lucky enough to be surrounded by the rainforest and the ocean. I spend a lot of time hiking to various water holes or camping on the beach. It’s in those moments as I am glancing around at the native trees and listening to the songs of many native birds that I feel FREE. It is the most rejuvenating thing I can do. The worries of my work week disappear and I wash away the stress of life in the crystal clear waters fresh off the mountain. Its my mini weekend adventure to recharge my spirit ready for the next week of corporate antics. I did exactly this when I had an impromptu visit from a friend who lives in Sydney this past weekend. We went south and hiked to a waterfall, then drove back into the middle of town to another popular fresh water swimming hole then 60k’s north to a beach all in one day all in the spur of the moment!

  17. The last time I felt free spirited was when we slipped away from a big family get together and went to the local pub and listened to a group of young mussos playing their hearts out, stayed until closing time and hubby paid the publican some money to keep the guys going longer, it was a great night. We did get into trouble the next day from all the family.

  18. I had hand-balled my kids off the the grandparents and hubby was off with his mates. I took myself off for a massage, followed by a picnic lunch for one at the beach followed by a walk along the beach. Fairly simple but it has been over 10 years where I didnt have to answer to anyone and could just enjoy my own company ….. and I LOVED it!

  19. Deciding after being engaged for a few years to elope to Vanuatu….Organised it all in a month, dress, ceremony, photographer, accommodation, flights, you name it & it got done in a month! Best thing we ever done & it felt very free spirited & adventurous!

  20. I am petrified of the water – in it or on it. I went on a short cruise from Cairns to the Great Barrier Reef and also went on a glass bottom boat.
Whilst I had a good time joining in the fun with others and enjoying the magic panorama, I have to admit I was glad to get back on terra firma

  21. When I was 16 and went skydiving. The adventure club in my high school always did things like hiking or orienteering and the boys complained that it wasn’t adventurous enough so the teacher organised a skydiving trip. Funnily enough none of the boys were able to go! One by one they all pulled out so it was 3 girls left.

I asked my mum hesitantly for permission and she pulled the old “ask your father” card. And dad said yes! Mum wasn’t happy but she couldn’t do anything since she had her chance to object.

The way it was set up, at 3500ft the door to the plane opened and we had to hold onto the wing and climb out to the end, take our feet off so we were horizontal and then let go! It was a solo jump and so the parachute cord was attached to the plane. We had two seconds of free fall before the parachute opened. I was having such a good time that I forgot to steer the parachute and ended up landing in the wrong paddock!

  22. The last time that I felt free spirited and adventurous was when I had an elephant ride in Thailand, and was then able to feed them banana’s. They are a magnificent creature.
I mostly feel free spirited and adventurous when I am in the ocean.

  23. My hair is curly and has a cow lick in the front. When I was five years old my mother took me to the hairdresser to have my long hair cut and my fringe trimmed straight. It took the hairdresser an awful long time to get the fringe and length exactly straight as it was always tricky with the cow lick and curls! Anyway finally it was a success and we headed home.
Mum began dinner and I must have been terribly bored or inspired by my visit to the hairdresser as I found a pair of scissors and began to do a few “improvements” to my newly styled hair! I certainly felt free spirited and adventurous until Mum caught me, but all too late, as I had chopped a large piece out of my fringe (yes the one that was so hard to get straight!) and I now looked ridiculous. I have never seen mum as mad at me as she did this day. The look on her face and her anger will stay with me forever…thankfully the haircut didn’t!!!!

  24. The last time I felt free-spirited & adventurous?! Last week when I finally booked a hot-air balloon flight (after yearrrrrrrs of wanting to do this!)…… I’m looking forward to more of these feelings when I actually get up there!!

  25. a friend challenged me to shave my head for a cure last year, she was going through chemo and was losing hers. i took her up on the challenge and managed to raise $900. it’s amazing how brave you feel just before it happens…and then how it all changes the moment the first bit of hair comes off..suddenly thinking about how people are going to treat you etc etc. then when it’s done it’s like “meh, i can do anything now, who cares what i look like, i’ve made a difference’
since then, i’ve been adventuring into uncharted territory (or should that be uncharted hairitory?) by dying it different colours that i might not have done if it hadn’t been so short, i loved the blue and purple that was fun!

  26. As a Tomboy, I’m always in pants and my hair tied back. So the last time I felt free spirited and adventurous was when I went wild and “let my hair down” with a courageously new hair-do.

  27. Being myself, being able to answer to no one but me, doing what I see is the right thing to do and teaching my children to do the same. Have confidence in who you are without being arrogant and you’ll always feel free 🙂

  28. I took my 3 year old niece to the local park on the weekend. She brought out the inner child in me. Kids show us the true meaning of being free spirited and adventurous without any fear or constraints. Live in the moment!

  29. Daily, I have the most amazing family and friends whose combined spirits give me the drive to meet all my life goals/

  30. I took my 10 year old Rabbit [best friend] to the vets today, he told me that “Midge” is fast going blind with Cataracts in both eyes. I came home feeling so worried about this happening then realised that I had, had 10 years of the most perfect relationship with the greatest of animals to grace my home. Nobody can live for ever and when the darkness descends on him I will put him to rest with a rose bush over him. So I will think of him for as long as I live.

  31. I felt free spirited and adventurous yesterday when I did the three and a half hour Harbour Bridge Climb with my daughter. I was worried that at the age of fifty four, having back, knee, and sciatica pain in my left leg, that I’d have trouble making it to the top. I pushed on with much determination, and I made it. I accomplished something I thought would be almost impossible. I felt like I was standing on top of the world – It was an exhilarating experience!

  32. Last year my partner and I camped out. A river was near by so we thought we would skinny dip!!! Oh i felt free spirited and alive like i was a teenager again. The only downfall, leeches!! lol

  33. Growing up I always saw myself as others saw me, I always kept my mouth shut if I disagreed with something or thought I might be judged for my opinion.

Seeing Wicked the Musical changed all that for me, after seeing the show 15 times I realised it was ok to be my own person and that some people wont like me and tear me down but others will love me for who I am.

I am now 31 years old and only felt this way recently, but now if I dont want to do something instead of making an excuse I tell people that I dont want to do it, or if someone says something hurtful about me or someone I care about I will stand up for myself

And now for the first time in 31 years I feel free to truly be myself

  34. free spirited and adventurous everyday, ready for work and afterward oit is time to play, I wouldn’t have life any other way

  35. As soon as I gave birth to my son I felt free spirited and adventurous, at that time I could have done anything adventurous as I just gave birth so everything was possible.. 🙂

  36. MY children and I visited a new local park last week and usually I wait sitting on the park bench watching them have fun.
At this park I was able to join in as the swing seat actually was of size to fit an adults behind.
I had forgotten but did not take long to reclaim the memories of being a free spirited child soaring in the wind.
Needless to say new favourite park!

  37. I am not a slave to fashion, but on more than one occasion I have embraced my Bohemian spirit & really stepped out.

Life is glorious with those times of feeling free spirited and adventurous.

  38. In all honesty…the last time I remember feeling free spirited & adventurous was when I was younger…12-13 …and living at Kelso in Bathurst. Back then (1983) we lived in a relatively new area and all around was open land and hidden creeks and abandoned buildings and orphanages.
I remember ‘investigating’ one day in the forest of trees near the abandoned orphanage. It was dark, damp, quiet and secluded and I felt amazing. I felt my spirit flying, I felt at one with nature and I felt damn powerful. It was the biggest natural high I’ve ever had. I had butterflies fluttering in my tummy and I was making believe I was in a hidden forest, something like Narnia (The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe being my favourite book). All I could hear was the wind blowing in the tops of the trees and twigs cracking underfoot and scurrying noises in the bushes. Then something caught my eye and I looked and became frozen to the spot…I was looking eye-to-eye with a fox. It was absolutely surreal and the fox was stunningly beautiful…it watched me for a minute and then it dashed off, with its big bushy tail following. I was feeling a mixture between scared and excited.
That is one day I will still remember until the day I die…etched into my memory and I can still relive those feelings. This is why I love walking…anywhere but especially bushwalking or along beaten tracks but my mobility became limited 10 years ago, so all I have now are the memories…thank goodness for them 🙂

  39. The last time I felt free spirited and adventurous was two years ago when I went to visit my horses that are out paddock at a friends farm. I was alone and standing in the middle of my herd ( four large mares ) feeling a little intimidated. They are all large horses. On a whim I jumped up onto the oldest mare and clicked my tongue while holding on to her mane and she cantered off gently into the paddock with my other three girls following. I just had to relax and trust her so i sat back with the wind in my hair and imagined I was just one of the herd. It only lasted for a few minutes but it was truly awe inspiring. She chose to take care of me an not bolt or throw me and theres nothing I could have done about it if she did. I just had to put my faith in her good nature and enjoy the moment. To have the other three girls cantering along next to us was amazing. It absolutely felt like a scene from a movie or advertisement. I will carry this memory with me forever, the day nature allowed me to be part of their world, if only for a few minutes.

  40. Being free spirited doesn’t have to fit a stereotype. It really means just being you. Let go of what holds you back, let go of what you hate and be comfortable just being you. Follow your dream and live in the moment. No letting the ego block you and no judging of or hindering other people’s spirit. A real go with the flow and enjoy life to the fullest mind and life. I live this almost daily. I do what I want, when I want, (within the law). I don’t care about fashion I just wear what I want. If I want to go somewhere I do. I live my life to the fullest as much as I can. Now the ‘adventurous’ side of things last happened about 2 weeks ago when I just decided it was time to live a bit more. I signed up for scuba diving lessons and have even been to my first one! I can’t even snorkel. Humans aren’t supposed to try to breathe under water….known fact. So it has been one of my greatest fears….but I let go of it, finally. I am determined I am going to enjoy the underwater world from under the water. No more just sitting on top of it. I am going down with the best of them!

  41. I felt adventurous and free spirited when I challenged myself and faced my fear of heights and went up on a plane and jumped out with a handsome experienced parashooter!!!!!THRILLING!!!

  42. The last time I felt adventurous and free spirited was before I had my 3 daughters, I was young and carefree and doing whatever I wanted to do …. travel, shop, live the life of Friday and Saturday nights at clubs and pubs listening to live bands…oh the memories.
