L’Oréal Professionnel Hairchalk will give your hair a burst of colour without the long term commitment. There are six temporary colours with violet, pink, blue, green, coral and bronze.
This is different to other chalks on the market as it is a liquid formula that is applied to the hair and built up until your desired level of brightness is reached. You can create different styles – thick streaks, or coloured ends in very little time.
Danielle Solier is from Xiang Hair in Victoria and a L’Oréal Professionnel Colour.Ist Team Member, and she shared some advice for using Hairchalk,
“My number one top tip when applying Hairchalk at home is – less is more! If you’re wanting a more vibrant result, apply the first layer of Hairchalk to dry hair and then wait until it dries. It should only take 30 seconds to a minute. Then if you want a more vibrant and longer lasting result re-apply!”
I used the “First Date Violet” on my highlighted hair, and it started as a light purple shade and I was able to build for more of an impact. Because my hair is coloured blonde, I was a little worried it would be purple forever but after the first wash it was hardly noticeable and by the second it was completely gone.

The application technique is easy but may require some perfecting depending on the look you want to achieve, just remember to towel up first as you would with any at home colour (but once it is set it won’t transfer onto your clothes or bedding). After 30 seconds the colour is ready, just give your hair a quick brush and the process is complete.
