2014 is here, we say out with the old and in with the new and now is the time to think about what hairstyles will be in fashion for this shiny new year.
Dario Cotroneo is the owner of Dario Salon and he has worked his magic on the hair of many including Laura Dundovic and Gracie Otto. This is one man with his eye (and hands) on the trends and he is already forecasting what will be hot in hair for the later part of 2014.
Dario says fringes (or bangs for our international readers) will be a trend that is embraced this year. Choose a style that suits your face because as the hair guru says ALL fringes are trending, “full, sixties fringes, wispy side strands, long side-swept or relaxed and bitty, fringes are still in.”

A bad hair days best friend the pony tail is on Dario’s radar, he said “whether sleek or messy, either slicked back at the crown or parted deep on one side, ponies are in and loved for their low maintenance in what can be a trying season! Parting hair is also a key look to this trend and a stand alone style in its own right.”
Lastly we move on to what Dario calls Real Girl Hair – “wet look locks are in – easy when you get caught in the rain! As are gentle, natural-looking waves – perfectly achievable in minutes with styling tool MYCURL (image from MYCURL). Partings are everywhere (on the catwalk, and in the hair – from side to side and right down the middle) and translate to this look also.”
Three looks that are all likely to be spotted on the catwalk, but the beauty of these trends are that they are all achievable at home.
Hi, I’m Anna the Editor of Beauty and Lace.
Dario wouldn’t love my ponytail! I shall try a part and break away from the total mess my hair likes.
