There were a range of different hairstyles seen on the catwalk at New York Fashion Week and the clean looking bun featured on the Vivienne Tam models is one that could easily be dressed up or down for day or night.
Tracey Hughes is an Australian hairdressing success story, she is well known for her talent and is the Redken Australia Artistic Director.
Tracey is from Mieka Hairdressing (with award winning salons in Melbourne and the Gold Coast) and recently hair-styled some of the shows at NYFW including Vivienne Tam.
It might sound a little strange but the inspiration for this hairstyle is a “Japanese Garden”, trees, greenery and nature. A look that is natural, clean and a little bit 70’s retro.
Described as a low, messy side part with a loosely secured twisted knot in the nape to create a messy unkempt feel.
GET THE LOOK
- Apply a generous amount of Redken Full Effect 04 then dry the mouse into the hair using a diffuser to create natural, messy and beach texture.
- Create a side part using random sectioning for a low and indefinite side part. Loosely secure all the hair into a ponytail in the nape of the neck, twist into knot, and then secure into a bun.
- Finish with Redken Quick Dry 18 sprayed in areas around the parting to create a dirtier texture.
