I was given the opportunity to review the TRESemmé Split Remedy collection for the last three weeks. Their timing was actually perfect in sending me the products because I haven’t had my hair cut in about five months and my strands were starting to look fried.
To top it off New York had a bit of a heat wave so I had an unbelievable amount of frizz that made me look like a shaggy dog. The products that I got to try out to help my locks look better are:
- TRESemmé® Split RemedyTM Shampoo
- TRESemmé® Split RemedyTM Conditioner
- TRESemmé® Split RemedyTM Serum
- TRESemmé® Split RemedyTM Conditioning Spray
- TRESemmé® Split RemedyTM Conditioning Treatment
I love the floral fragrance of the Split Remedy Shampoo because it’s light and not overly sweet. The shampoo is thin in texture so that it is easy to apply throughout my scalp. I love that it lathered so quickly because it made me feel that I was really getting a great treatment. Although it leaves my hair feeling very clean it does not make it feel overly dry as some other shampoos do. Best of all, a little goes a long way so I use a silver dollar size portion to clean my hair which runs down to the middle of my back.
The conditioner has a lighter fragrance than the shampoo and works wonders in moisturizing my hair so that it feels silky soft. It also untangles it so that I spend less time having to comb it out and losing hairs in the process. I use a little more conditioner than shampoo because I love the extra dose of nourishment and care that I get from it.
The conditioning spray is meant to be used as a leave in spray and works to detangle wet hair so that it’s more manageable. Since the conditioner pretty much solved my tangling issues, I use very little spray just to make it easier to style my hair faster and more efficiently. The spray is lightweight and easy to use.
The Leave-In Conditioning Treatment is meant to protect hair from the drying effects of styling which can lead to breakage, frizz or dryness. I apply it when my hair is still wet and it’s so lightweight that I don’t even notice that it’s there. It’s my favorite go to hair product for the times when I want to flat iron my hair because my strands look and feel so smooth and shiny once I’m done using the iron that it looks like my hair was professionally done. On the days that I don’t use an appliance to do my hair, I use my fingers to coax out the natural waves and even then my strands look shiny, frizz-free and healthy.
The sealing serum works to reduce frizz and seal in shine and since I can’t get enough of a good thing, I used it along with the other products. Like the other products, it doesn’t weigh my hair down or make it feel greasy or sticky. In fact it makes my hair feel so shiny and soft that I can’t help but constantly run my fingers through it. The perfect final styling product in the collection.
How It Works
The advanced technology in the Reconstructing Complex utilizes both negatively and positively charged polymers inside a gel body. Because split ends are negatively charged, the positive charges of the gel body actually attach to the negative charges inside of the split and contract during the drying process to bind split ends together- leaving you with a smooth, frizz proof look and a just cut look.
NEW Split Remedy, from TRESemmé, repairs up to 80% of split ends in just three uses. And with continued use, repairs further damage as it occurs.
Is it true? Absolutely! Not only did my frizz go down tremendously, but my hair looked shiny and healthy as well so that no day was a bad hair day even in the New York heat. At the prices that the TRESemmé products are sold ($4.49- to $4.99), I would definitely recommend giving them a try.
